This is Shuriken 2.0 for my Shadow cosplay (Final Fantasy VI) and was a joint effort between me and my husband, because sometimes I get lazy and need a day off. XD Shuriken 1.0 got broken coming home from Otakon. I hate it when my props break because it is kind of an effort to get me to make the same thing twice in a row. My husband knows this. <3
It's made all out of plywood, painted with enamel paints.

Yeah, it was kind of a bummer that Shuriken 1.0 got broken, but it wasn't that big a deal, as it was a rush job that I'd done like 2 days before Otakon while finishing up the chainsaw. Besides, I got some awesome photos with it by the lovely !
The kanji on the blades are four of the common elements found in Final Fantasy - from the bottom: water, thunder, earth, fire. I thought about putting "ice" down instead of earth, since it's much more common (Shiva!) but the kanji for ice is so similar to water that I thought it would look boring. So I did earth instead. Now I can't be Seymour's rotating spells. Oh darn. XD
This one looks lovely though.
What do the chacters on the blades mean, if you don't mind me asking?
