Chainsaw: Edgar Figaro by gerodere Chainsaw: Edgar Figaro by gerodere
Probably my most ambitious project to date. This is my version of the chainsaw that Edgar Figaro wields in Final Fantasy VI, the one found in the Zozo clock tower. There are definitely no "reference pictures" for this, so I flew by the seat of my pants with a steampunk-ish theme, and I think it turned out really awesome ^_^;;;; The cosplayer was happy with it, at least! (that's what matters, right? XD)

Added bonus: the handle actually cranks the chain around the saw XD

That is a pretty wicked saw. Nice use of the bike parts.
I cosplay Edgar and took a pretty different approach to how I made mine. If you care to look, here's a decent picture of it [link]
I was hesitant on making it turn because I didn't want to get yelled at by con security >_<.

Anyways, great job!

Funnily enough, I already know what your chainsaw looks like, because I was the Shadow with the FFVI group on Sunday of Katsucon. Small world! :D

:D thanks so much! It was actually a last minute commission for someone in a FFVI group that I put together last year for Otakon (I was Shadow). I had originally planned to make our Edgar cosplayer a sword, but he jokingly suggested that I make a chainsaw instead, and then I got inspired.

Glad you like it!

This cainsaw was amazing. Not only because of the awesome amount of detial and how much it added to the cosplay on its own, but adding that it could actually turn was amzing. Everytime I saw the Edgar cosplayer he was usually showing it off to others and they were always amazed.

Spectacular work ^_^

I was really floored at how much attention it got! And Edgar was always kind of sheepishly like "oh...she made it...." XD

Wonderful. Kind of genius, really. I bet the gears actually turn the chain. So simple, so innovative. Not to mention beautiful.

Ah! Thanks! The chain actually does turn when you crank the handle around on the gear - I forgot to mention that in the photo description *goes to do that*
